WolframAlpha Hits the iPhone

It's not a native app, but it's a start: WolframAlpha has introduced an iPhone-formatted Web page that lets users browse the site, watch the intro video, and run queries.

Normally an iPhone-specific Web page isn't earth-shattering news--for that, you'll have to read about Venus crashing into Earth, or maybe Earth getting sucked into a black hole. But with WolframAlpha it's different, because of the layout of query results. They're nothing like the mostly text-only lists of links you see with, say, Google or Yahoo, as MediaPost reports.

The company is currently soliciting feedback on its blog, and announced that it is considering creating a more robust native application for the iPhone as well as other mobile device platforms.
